Counseling Services

Counseling involves you (the client) and me (the counselor). We establish goals during the initial intake session and work towards achieving them during our time together. Goals often include reduction of distressing symptoms, trauma work, improving relationship functioning, and re-adjusting to life changes and stressors. I utilize a measurement-based care platform to inform treatment based on your progress.

My goal is to work efficiently, effectively, and ethically so that you can move forward living a happier and healthier life. I will provide you with a treatment plan, which will include an anticipated duration of therapy, which can be revised as therapy progresses.

Counseling

I work with individuals (ages 16 and up), couples, and families. I provide both in-person and telehealth counseling services. In-person sessions take place at my office in Garden City, Idaho, and telehealth counseling takes place virtually for clients located in Idaho.

Free Virtual Consultation

I offer a free virtual consultation on most Wednesdays. If that time does not work for you, please reach out and I will try to accommodate your schedule so we can meet virtually. At this time, I have weekday appointments still available. My evening and Saturday slots are full.

Most people do not want to repeat their story to multiple counselors and for that reason consultations are a wonderful way to see if a counselor will be a good fit for you and your needs. The consultation appointment I offer is brief and not intended to be therapeutic. At the outset, I will ask you to share a general idea of why you are presenting for counseling (i.e., anxiety, adjustment to a life transition, marriage issues, etc.). The purpose of this is so that I can assess whether I will be a good fit for your presenting issue. Additionally, I will explain my style, telehealth policy, late cancel fee, billing, and measurement based care during the consultation. At that time, you can decide whether you want to proceed with scheduling an intake appointment with me.

Life is rarely perfect. We all face ups and downs, and sometimes we all need some extra help in our corner. If there is an area of your life that you are struggling with, or where you feel you could use additional insight, or even just a partner for the journey, then working with a counselor may be right for you. Working with a counselor helps you focus on your mental and emotional health, overcome challenges, meet your goals, and lay foundations for a brighter, healthier future
